Joliet Fire Department responded to 688 calls in 2017 - 32.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Joliet included 200 fires - 91 structure fires, 31 vehicle fires and 78 other fires.

In all, the department saw $1,909,458 in fire loss - or about $9,547 per fire.

The department also received 488 false calls, including six malicious calls and 482 other false calls.

The Joliet Fire Department had an annual budget of $4,169,181 in 2017.
