State Rep. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) was thankful for a gift that was given to him by a Democratic colleague during the May 29 House floor debate.
“I think some of you guys are opening up the envelope right now from Rep. (Robert) Martwick,” Batinick said, holding up a gift. “I want to thank him for the calculator he gave us (to) help (us) on the budget.”
However, Batinick pointed out a couple of issues with the gift.

“The addition button seems to be twice as large as the other buttons on the calculator, and just to point out, (that) right above it is the subtraction button if you are all interested,” Batinick said, bringing laughter to the House floor. "Thank you very much."
