Report: Wilmington spent $11,421 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Wilmington Community Unit School District 209U is down 11 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Will County school district spent $12,775 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,421 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1485 to 1384.

Wilmington's spending in 2016-17 was 12 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
