Report: Channahon spent $10,013 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Channahon School District 17 is up 21 percent from five years ago, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Will County school district spent $8,270 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,013 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1433 to 1274.

Channahon's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
