Romeoville officials said the village has warming centers available to residents who need a respite from the bitterly cold weather.
A warming center at the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road, is open from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., the village said in a release. Residents may go to a warming center at Fire Station No. 3, 698 Birch Drive, after 9:30 p.m.
“If a warming center is needed after 9:30 p.m., we ask residents to contact the Police Department at 815-886-7219 prior to proceeding to the warming center,” the release said. “We appreciate your assistance in getting the word out to elderly or disabled neighbors.”
