The calls in University Park included 44 fires - 30 structure fires, six vehicle fires and seven other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $469,751 in fire loss - or about $10,676 per fire.
The department also received 129 false calls, including three malicious calls and 126 other false calls.
The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries.
The University Park Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 17 active employees and 16 retired or inactive employees, was $248,097 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $5,639 for every fire in 2016.
