The Will County Republican Central Committee is ready to get things cooking for Gov. Bruce Rauner's re-election bid.
The group will host a Texas barbecue/Rauner fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, at 16701 Sweedler Road, the Cheryl and Mike Uremovich residence in Manhattan. Admission is $250 per person and $500 per family. A private reception with Rauner is available to sponsors, as are signage and special recognition. Scheduled activities and entertainment includes live music, hay rides, food, bean bags, a moonwalk and horseshoes.
The committee's next meeting will be on Thursday, July 20, at Gatto's Restaurant, 1938 E. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox. A meet-and-greet period will start at 7 p.m., with the business meeting scheduled from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.

The group said it's also looking for staffing for the Booth Brigade at the Will County Fair on Aug. 23-27 in Peotone. Those interested in helping can email natmurawski@gmail.com with “Will County Fair Booth Brigade” in the subject line.
