State Reps. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) and David Welter (R-Morris) recently hosted a free jobs fair to connect job seekers with more than 90 employers with positions to fill, according to a press release.
The June 23 event at Troy Middle School in Plainfield allowed candidates to meet with prospective regional and local employers and also featured three free workshops.
Job seekers who were interested in working for the state were taught how to better understand the public hiring process. Attendees also learned about Illinois Job Link, a state initiative that collates job listings and information on training and education opportunities, as well as publicly available resources and programs. The fair also presented a workshop on using LinkedIn to get a job.

“Our jobs fair matches local job seekers with area employers who are looking to hire right now,” Batinick and Welter said in the release. The release went on to encourage everyone who’s unemployed, under-employed or simply looking to start a new career to check out the opportunities available in the area.
