Rep. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) wants to open a window of opportunity for businesses in his district.
But he's starting with doors.
In a recent Facebook post, Batinick pointed to a family-run Plainfield business.
"I've been meaning to give a 'shout out' to some of the local businesses in the district for a long time,” Batinick wrote. “I just had a great experience with 'Doors by Russ' and figured I start with them.”
Doors by Russ was opened by father-and-son team Wes and Russ Horeni, along with five other employees, in 1983 and has grown it into a thriving business that offers custom wood garage doors as well as a range of other varieties and installation services.
“My g-door opener wasn't working right," he wrote. "I called the morning figuring I'd have to schedule the work for later in the week. They stated if someone finished early, they would send a tech over this afternoon. At 3 I received a call that they could come today. One half hour after they arrived the problem was diagnosed and fixed. (I needed a new gear kit.) The tech was courteous and polite. Price was reasonable. Very pleased! Thanks Doors by Russ!"
