Lewis opposite hitter Mitch Perinar has earned two weekly honors, the university's website reported recently.
Perinar, a redshirt sophomore from Channahon, was named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Week and the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Flyers wins in early April.
In Lewis' wins in Indiana over No. 13 Ball State in Muncie and against Fort Wayne, Perinar averaged 4.43 kills and 1.17 blocks per set and hit .431. He had a total of 31 kills in the two matches.
Perinar tallied 15 kills with a .591 hitting percentage against Fort Wayne, a hitting percentage that was the third-highest among Flyers this season.
Perinar's Sports Imports/AVACA honor was the first such award for a Lewis player since Bobby Walsh earned the accolade in February 2015.
