The top 50 highest-paid teachers in Peotone CUSD 207U each earned more than $59,000 in total compensation in 2015, according to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
The amount reflects teachers' full adjusted pay - a calculation which includes benefits and all pension contributions by taxpayers for each teacher, and reflects a full year of work instead of the nine months teachers actually worked.
Records show that in 2015, Christine A. Halweg, a teacher at Peotone High School at 212 W. Wilson St., received $107,681.90, the highest full adjusted pay among all teachers in the district.
Included in that amount was $20,333.35 in taxpayer-funded benefits.
Overall, the total amount Peotone CUSD 207U spent on its 50 highest-paid teachers in 2015 was $3,611,092.80.
