Isom will manage the East Division squad in the game. He selected Medick and Townsley for the team's pitching staff. First baseman Marc Flores, second baseman Carter Bell, shortstop Alfredo Rodriguez and outfielder Charlie White previously had been announced as All-Star selections from the Slammers.

Townsley had a 4-4 record with a 4.34 ERA, 37 strikeouts, 51 hits and 25 walks in 49 2/3 innings over 10 games.

Isom has more than 400 wins in his managerial career that has spanned 16 minor-league seasons, including five years in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.

On Tuesday, the Slammers were 28-23, good for second place in the East Division. The Washington Wild Things led the division with a 27-22 record.

The Southern Illinois Miners led the West Division with a 34-17 mark.

In other Slammers news, the team will host a “Turn the Ballpark Blue” night on July 20 to honor all police officers. Tickets will be free to all police officers, and fans are encouraged to wear blue. Tickets to the game purchased online using the promo code “BLUE” will result in a $5 donation per ticket to the Assist the Officer Foundation, which is raising funds for the families of the five police officers killed the recent attack in Dallas.
