Essington Road at the CN Rail crossing in Joliet will be closed starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, and is expected to reopen by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14. The City of Joliet stated that the timeline for the closure may change depending on weather conditions and work progress.
The closure will allow the CN Railway Company to replace the grade crossing at this location. A detour route has been established using Renwick Road, Gaylord Road, and Division Street.
