The roundabout at the intersection of Cedar Road and Haven Avenue is scheduled to open by the end of October, according to an announcement from local authorities. The new traffic feature aims to improve vehicle flow and safety in the area.

As drivers approach the roundabout, they are advised to follow standard road rules, reduce speed, and yield to all traffic already circulating within the roundabout. Pedestrians and bicyclists in crosswalks at both entry and exit points have the right of way.

Traffic inside the roundabout moves in one direction. Drivers should enter only when there is a safe gap, continue directly to their exit without stopping, and always yield to pedestrians and bicyclists when leaving.

In case an emergency vehicle approaches, drivers not yet in the roundabout should move to the right and wait. Those already inside should exit promptly, then pull over so the emergency vehicle can pass safely.

Local officials encourage residents unfamiliar with roundabouts or their rules to review educational materials available through provided resources. These include guides for navigating roundabouts as a driver, pedestrian, or bicyclist, as well as information on how large trucks and emergency vehicles interact with these intersections.

"Yield to all traffic in the roundabout. Yield to pedestrians and bicyclists in the crosswalk (at both entry and exit of the roundabout). Roundabout traffic travels one way."

"Yield to all circulating traffic in the roundabout, and enter when there is a safe gap in traffic. Continue to your exit and do not stop within the roundabout (circulating traffic has the right of way). Yield to pedestrians and bicyclists in the crosswalk as you exit."

"Should an emergency vehicle approach a roundabout, move to the right and do not enter the roundabout. If you are already in the roundabout, do not stop. Exit the roundabout, move to the right, and then stop so the emergency vehicle can safely pass."

Residents are encouraged to view additional educational materials or video demonstrations for further guidance on using this new infrastructure.
