The City of Joliet has announced that southbound lanes on N. Joliet Street between W. Webster Street and W. Clinton Street will be closed starting October 13, 2025, due to emergency water main repairs at the intersection of N. Joliet Street and W. Cass Street. Northbound traffic in the same area will remain open, but a detour for southbound vehicles will be implemented until the expected completion date of October 17.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes while work is underway. The city advises motorists to "drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone." Residents with questions can contact the Public Utilities Department at (815) 724-4220.
