The City of Joliet will host its annual Fiestas Patrias Mexican Independence Day Parade on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The event is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. in downtown Joliet along Collins Street.
This year’s parade will recognize local Mexican-American veterans and community leaders for their service and contributions to both the city and the nation. Grand Marshals named for the event include Mr. Joe Belman, a 101-year-old U.S. Army World War II veteran; Mr. Tony Arellano, a Vietnam War veteran; Lt. George Hernandez, retired from the Joliet Police Department; and Mr. José Dueñez Sr., who will accept on behalf of his late son Sgt. José Dueñez Jr., U.S. Army.
Visual elements of the parade will feature floats, marching bands, community organizations, and a dedicated float carrying the Grand Marshals.
