State Representative Patrick Sheehan has issued a series of statements on recent legislative developments in Illinois, including the signing of his own bill to enhance local code enforcement and his opposition to new state mandates on student mental health screenings and financial aid for undocumented immigrants.

On August 20, Sheehan commented on another recent law signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker regarding financial benefits for undocumented immigrants. He stated: "Governor Pritzker has signed a new law that opens the door for undocumented immigrants to receive the same financial benefits as Illinois citizens and legal residents.

Let’s be clear: every student deserves a chance to succeed, but that opportunity should not come at the expense https://t.co/9qUdOXqtwK".

Sheehan was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 37th House District in 2024, succeeding Tim Ozinga.
