State Senator John Curran and State Representative Nicole La Ha will co-host a Senior Fair on August 20, 2025, at the CORE Fitness Center in Lemont. The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, aims to provide seniors with access to various resources and services.
“We’re dedicated to serving our senior community and making sure they have access to the information and services they need,” said Curran. “This fair is a great way for seniors to gather together, connect with services, and enjoy a morning focused on their well-being.”
More than 70 organizations and service providers will be present at the fair. Seniors attending can receive free health screenings such as blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and hearing tests. Additional offerings include wellness tips and opportunities for seniors to connect with health care, financial planning, legal assistance, and other support resources. The VFW will collect American flags for proper disposal while the Lemont Police Department will accept unused prescription drugs.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to co-host this Senior Fair with Senate Minority Leader Curran,” said Rep. La Ha. “Our seniors have given so much to our community, and this event is a wonderful opportunity to give back and ensure they have the resources and support they need to thrive.”
Senator Curran was elected in 2017 as a Republican representing Illinois’ 41st Senate District after Christine Radogno stepped down (https://www.ilga.gov/senate/Senator.asp?GA=103&MemberID=3223).
