Janice Marie Meyer Wilke, previously of Mokena, peacefully entered eternal life on July 4, 2025, at her Peotone residence. Born September 3, 1941, to Wesley I. and Vernett A. Buchmeier Meyer, Janice was the second daughter of eight girls raised on a dairy farm in Peotone. She dedicated 45 years to Green Garden Elementary School as a secretary, fostering deep connections with generations of students. Janice's faith, family, and love for reading endeared her to many, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her children, Lon (Lorri) Wilke and Laurie (Bret) Reifsteck, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her seven sisters and numerous nephews and nieces cherish her memory.

Visitation will be at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone on July 13, 2025, from 2-6 pm. The funeral service will be held on July 14, 2025, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone. Interment will follow at Peotone Cemetery.
