Frankfort - James H. Howland, 79, of Frankfort, IL, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Known as Jim, he had a successful career in the financial marketplace, excelling in trading and account management, forging lasting relationships with clients. Into retirement, Jim continued to study, debate, and invest, offering advice and guidance to family and friends.

Jim's true passion was his family. Just weeks before his passing, he joyfully danced at his granddaughter's wedding, cherishing moments with his grandchildren and their innocence. An avid golfer and lover of music, especially known for his annual Elvis birthday rendition, Jim found joy in simple pleasures and forming friendships on the golf course.

Throughout his valiant three-year battle with cancer, Jim was supported by his wife Irene, enduring treatments with remarkable grace and strength. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Irene; children Rick & Lisa Howland, Randy & Vanessa Howland; and grandchildren Kennedy, Kelcie, Khloe & Cole Glasser, and Kristopher. Jim's memory will be cherished by his brother Patrick, loving sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Predeceased by his parents Harold and Lorraine Howland, and brother Jerry, Jim will be remembered at St. Stephen Decon & Martyr Catholic Church in Tinley Park, IL, on June 27, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center or the Cancer Support Center in Mokena, IL.

Friends and loved ones are invited to honor and celebrate the life of James H. Howland at his commemorative service.
