The City of Joliet Public Utilities Department is set to begin a water main construction project on Scott Street starting Monday, May 5, 2025. This construction is part of the North Downtown Water Main Replacement Project, with work extending from Cass Street to Jackson Street.
The initial phase involves replacing the water main along Scott Street, with traffic limited to a single lane between Cass Street and Jackson Street. The project for this section is expected to conclude by July 11, 2025. Drivers in the area are advised to consider alternate routes during the construction period.
"We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone," said a representative from the department.
