The City of Joliet Diversity & Community Relations Committee is scheduled to convene on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 4:30 PM. The meeting will take place in the Executive Conference Room, located on the second floor of Joliet City Hall, 150 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois. Residents who cannot attend the meeting in person have the option to email comments in advance to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

The meeting agenda includes the roll call and the approval of minutes from the previous meeting held on March 17, 2025. Among the main items for discussion is a presentation on the PY25 Community Development Block Grant Applications and an eligibility review.

Participants who wish to speak regarding agenda items will have up to four minutes to convey their views. This is a speaking opportunity rather than a question and answer session, and typically, neither staff nor committee members respond directly to public comments during this time. The City Clerk has the public speaking procedures available and notes that anyone disrupting the meeting's harmony could be asked to stop by the Presiding Officer.

Additionally, the committee will open the call for nominations for the 2025 Neighborhood Hero Awards during the meeting. As with comments on agenda items, speakers who wish to address non-agenda items will also be allotted a maximum of four minutes. Again, this will not be an interactive session with committee responses.

Any queries regarding reasonable accommodations to attend the meeting should be directed to The City Clerk's Office at 150 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois, by calling 815-724-3780.

The meeting will conclude after public comments.
