Jason Robert Brooks, also known as “Brooksy”, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at his home. He was born on June 19, 1979, in Morris, IL to Neal Brooks and Cynthia Daniels.

Jason was a passionate hunter and expert shooter who managed the Mazonia Hunt Club for many years. He mentored numerous youth hunters and enjoyed fishing with friends. He worked as a parts manager and data processor at Dibble Trucking in Gardner.

Surviving him are his children, Wyatt, Tess, and Carlie Brooks of South Wilmington, IL; father, Neal (Holly) Brooks of Ottawa, IL; mother, Cynthia (Roger) Bossler of Rio Rancho, NM; sisters, Heather (Chuck) Harvey of South Wilmington, Jennifer Brooks of Braceville, IL, Katie (Kevin) Campbell Mengoni of Braceville, IL, and Cera Kingston of Symmerton, IL; grandmother, JoAnn Daniels of Coal City, IL; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Daniels, and paternal grandparents, Evelyn and Ralph Brooks.

A memorial visitation will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Gardner American Legion from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Family of Jason Brooks College Education Fund (care of Wyatt Brooks) or South Wilmington VFD.
