The City of Joliet Public Works Department has announced four significant resurfacing projects scheduled for 2025. Three projects involve standard resurfacing efforts such as the removal and replacement of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, pavement grinding, resurfacing, and tree maintenance. The fourth project will feature a tar-and-chip surface on existing gravel roads.
Project A, set in Jackson Township, will be managed by A.C. Pavement Striping Co. and is scheduled to commence in mid-2025. "This project involves placing a tar-and-chip surface over existing gravel roadways in Jackson Township. This will help improve the driving surface, making it more durable and easier to drive on."
In early April 2025, Projects B and C will begin under PT Ferro and Gallagher Asphalt, respectively. These projects focus on full-depth resurfacing, including cold milling, hot-mix asphalt patching, and associated tasks like tree maintenance and curb replacements. "Construction is expected to begin in early April 2025," according to the plans.
Project D, awarded to Gallagher Asphalt, mirrors the scope of Projects B and C. Work is expected to kick off in March 2025. "Construction is slated to begin in March 2025."
