The City of Joliet has extended the deadline for the submission of proposals for the redevelopment of the historic Loughran Building in downtown Joliet. The new submission deadline is now set for Friday, April 4th, 2025. This extension allows developers additional time to formulate comprehensive proposals to revitalize the property at 1 E. Cass Street.
The city is aiming to harness proposals that will not only breathe new life into the site but also bolster downtown's appeal and contribute to Joliet’s economic and preservation goals. Desired proposals may include mixed-use developments, commercial use, residential components, or other innovative solutions that could invigorate economic activity in the area.
Prospective developers must demonstrate their financial abilities, relevant experience, and a vision that aligns with Joliet's downtown renewal objectives. Emphasis is placed on economic impact, community benefits, project feasibility, and effective use of available economic incentives.
