City of Joliet committee to review business grant applications at special meeting

The City of Joliet's Land Use & Economic Development Committee is set to have a special meeting. Scheduled for Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 9:00 AM, the meeting will be held in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Joliet City Hall at 150 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.

For those unable to be physically present, comments can be emailed in advance to publiccomment@joliet.gov.

The meeting will start with a roll call and approval of the minutes from the Land Use & Economic Development Committee Meeting held on January 22, 2025. Following this, there will be a period for citizens to be heard on agenda items. They can speak for a maximum of four minutes each. However, this period is not meant for questions and answers, as staff and Committee members typically do not respond to public comments. According to the procedures provided by the City Clerk, those displaying disruptive conduct will be addressed by the Presiding Officer and may lose their speaking opportunity.

The agenda includes reviewing the Business Continuity Grant Applications for awards over $25,000. The session will also feature discussions on new or old business, though these will not be for final action or recommendation.

During the public comment segment, citizens can talk about non-agenda items for up to four minutes each, maintaining the same rules for participation as the earlier segment.

Finally, the meeting will be accessible. Those needing reasonable accommodations can reach out to the City Clerk's Office at 150 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois 60432, or call (815) 724-3780.
