Joliet seeks proposals for redevelopment of historic Loughran Building

The City of Joliet has announced the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) aimed at redeveloping the historic Loughran Building, located at 1 E. Cass Street. This initiative presents an opportunity to invest in the revitalization efforts of downtown Joliet.

Proposals are sought that will bring new life to this landmark property, enhance the vibrancy of downtown, and align with Joliet’s long-term goals for economic development and historic preservation. The city encourages proposals that incorporate mixed-use development, commercial activation, residential components, or other innovative uses to boost economic activity in the area.

Applicants should demonstrate their financial capacity, development experience, and vision aligning with Joliet’s downtown redevelopment objectives. Emphasis is placed on economic impact, community benefits, project feasibility, and strategic use of economic incentives.
