Chester John Jerantowski Jr., of Braceville, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Born on June 21, 1942, to Chester Sr. and Zella Jerantowski, Chet spent his formative years in Braceville before graduating from Kankakee High School in 1960. On January 11, 1964, he married his beloved wife Sonja Decker, recently celebrating 61 years of marriage. Chet dedicated 34 years of service as a maintenance mechanic at Amoco Chemical Company in Joliet, IL. Throughout his retirement, Chet found joy in horse betting at Off Track Betting and gathering with friends at the Wilmington VFW & Moose Lodge to watch sports. He enjoyed attending car shows and cheering on his grandchildren during their sporting events.

He is survived by his wife Sonja Jerantowski, children Greg (Karen) Jerantowski and La'Rae (Mark) Flynn, grandchildren Makenna Jerantowski, Shana Flynn, Skylar Flynn, and Landon Flynn, sister Delores (Jim) Ferrari, brothers Darrell (Kathy) Jerantowski and Dwain (Linda) Jerantowski, sister-in-law Donna Jerantowski, and numerous nieces and nephews. Chet is predeceased by his parents Chester Sr. and Zella Jerantowski, brother Donnie Jerantowski, and sister Dorothy Jerantowski.

Visitation will be held at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home in Braidwood, IL, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, beginning at 9:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 pm. The burial service will follow at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, with a luncheon to follow at 2:00 pm at the Moose Lodge 241 in Wilmington. Memorial donations in Chester's honor may be made to the Braceville Methodist Church, VFW Post 5422, or the Moose Lodge 241 as lasting tributes to his memory.
