Frankfort, Il - Mary M. Banik (nee Isaacs), 82, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, surrounded by her family at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Il. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, to Alexander E. Isaacs and Mary Isaacs (nee John’s), Mary was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Banik. Together, they shared over 60 years of marriage and family life after moving to the Chicago area.

Mary is survived by her loving daughters Lisa Milla, Yvonne Banik, and cherished granddaughter Allisa Milla. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many, and a devoted member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church in Calumet City, IL.

Having worked at the New Hope Center in Calumet City, a non-profit service agency for individuals with developmental disabilities, Mary provided care and guidance until her retirement to become a devoted grammie.

Known for her kind heart and spirit, Mary's warm presence and ever-present smile will be remembered by all. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mary's favorite charity, are appreciated.

A Funeral Mass in memory of Mary M. Banik will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mokena, IL on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
