Paul D. Madoni, Vietnam Veteran and Skilled Woodworker, Passes Away at 79

Paul D. Madoni | Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home

Paul D. Madoni, aged 79, of Bourbonnais, IL, and former resident of Atwood, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Born in Chicago to Celeste and Hazel Madoni, Paul was a skilled plumber at Ford Motor Company, a United States Air Force Vietnam veteran, and a proud member of the Peotone American Legion Post 392 and the Edgar 829 Masonic Lodge.

A passionate pilot who enjoyed flying his Cessna, Paul was also known for his exquisite woodworking skills, creating beautiful jewelry boxes and custom-made furniture. Alongside his late wife, Mary Jane, he relished traveling and camping with loved ones. Cherishing moments with family, Paul found joy in attending his grandchildren's games and performances and sharing his humor through jokes.

Survived by his brother Eddie Madoni, stepchildren Michael DeCarlo and Kimberly Voudrie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and extended family, Paul will be remembered for his craftsmanship, love of aviation, and dedication to his country and community.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, with masonic and military honors preceding the service. Interment will follow at Peotone Cemetery. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com. Flowers may be sent in memory of Paul D. Madoni via the family's flower store.
