Village of Romeoville Village Board met Nov. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

Roll Call

Present 7 - Trustee Jose Chavez, Trustee Dave Richards, Trustee Brian A. Clancy Sr., Mayor John Noak, Trustee Lourdes Aguirre, Trustee Linda Palmiter, and Trustee Ken Griffin

2. POSTING OF COLORS, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

3. PUBLIC COMMENT

Resident, Christine Braasch, explained the details of Harvest Saturday coming up on November 23rd.

Mayor Noak thanked Chris and all the volunteers of this program.

4. PRESENTATIONS

24-3390 A Presentation Recognizing the Romeoville Flag Football Super Bowl Champions

Mayor Noak recognized and congratulated the Romeoville Flag Football Super Bowl Champions. The winners of each division were:

NFC Division (5-7 year olds): Saints

AFC Division (8-10 year olds): Bills

AFL Division (11-14 year olds): Power

24-3394 A Proclamation Declaring November 30, 2024 Small Business Saturday in the Village of Romeoville

Mayor Noak presented the proclamation to the President/ CEO of the Romeoville Chamber, Mary Kay Charity. Mary Kay thanked the Mayor and board for supporting Small Business Saturday.

A motion was made by Trustee Aguirre, seconded by Trustee Clancy, that this Proclamation be Accepted. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.

ORD24-1944 An Ordinance Amending Chapter 112.33(U) Class U License Classification

Village Attorney, Rich Vogel, explained that this ordinance updates the class U liquor license to better fit the needs of Sable Creek Winery. This change allows for the establishment to hold four outdoor special events throughout the year along with live music on their patio between May and September.

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Aguirre, to do a consent agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 6 - Trustee Chavez, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, Trustee Aguirre, Trustee Palmiter, and Trustee Griffin

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

Approval of the Consent Agenda

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Palmiter, to approve the Consent Agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 6 - Trustee Chavez, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, Trustee Aguirre, Trustee Palmiter, and Trustee Griffin

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

MIN24-0991 Approval of Minutes- Regular Meeting November 6, 2024

This Minutes Regular was Approved.

RES24-3928 A Resolution Establishing a Development Security for the Public, Stormwater and Erosion Control Improvements associated with the Parking Lot Addition at 50 South Creek Parkway (Pinnacle 22)

(PZC#24-021).

This Resolution was Approved.

RES24-3929 A Resolution Accepting the Public Improvements of the Shell Gas Station at 1410 N. Independence Boulevard Romeoville, Illinois

This Resolution was Approved.

RES24-3930 A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Process and Accepting the Proposal from Metropolitan Industries for a new Carillon Lift Station Pump

This Resolution was Approved.

RES24-3931 A Resolution Approving an Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the Appropriation of Local Match Funds for the Highpoint Drive Resurfacing Project

This Resolution was Approved.

RES24-3932 A Resolution Reducing the Development Security for the FS Real Estate Site Romeoville, Illinois

This Resolution was Approved.

RES24-3933 A Resolution Approving an Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for the use of MFT Funds for the 135th Street Resurfacing Project

This Resolution was Approved.

6. MAYOR'S REPORT

Mayor Noak wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and discussed events held the last few weeks such as RomeoCon, ribbon cuttings, and the Veterans Day Breakfast.

7. CLERK'S REPORT

Clerk Holloway explained that the Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation will hold their next meeting tomorrow at Bolingbrook Village Hall. Congratulations to the Flag Football Super Bowl Champions and to the new firefighters and promoted lieutenants sworn in at the Fire Department Banquet. Happy Thanksgiving!

8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT

Village Manager, Dawn Caldwell, explained that an update will go to the board next week regarding the strategic plan. The Village has been working with Heidelberg on their landscape plan.

Mayor Noak commented that they are clearing out invasive and poor quality landscaping so they can add much better landscaping. Mrs. Caldwell said they have a lot of protected species over there so this will be much better for them.

9. NEW BUSINESS

ORD24-1944 An Ordinance Amending Chapter 112.33(U) Class U License Classification

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Richards, that this Ordinance be Approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote.

10. BOARD COMMENTS (including Commission, Committee, Liaison Reports)

Trustee Chavez- Congratulations to the kids who participated in flag football. Harvest Saturday is 9 AM- 2 PM at various locations in town.

Trustee Palmiter- Flag football is a great organization. Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks to Chris for all her work with Harvest Saturday.

Trustee Griffin- Thank you to everyone who came out for the Veterans Breakfast. Donate to Harvest Saturday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Trustee Clancy- Trustee Clancy gave a brief overview of upcoming Rec events. Congratulations to the football players. Happy Thanksgiving!

Please put your garbage cans in the parkway instead of the street when it snows.

Trustee Richards- The next Planning and Zoning meeting is canceled.

Please donate to Harvest Saturday. Great to see the super bowl champions. Its a great organization. Happy Thanksgiving!

Trustee Aguirre- The next Fire and Police Commission meeting is December 10th. The next Conservation and Sustainability Committee meeting is January 2nd. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Veterans Breakfast. Congratulations to the Football Champions.

11. EXECUTIVE SESSION

No executive session was held at this meeting.
