Charles "Carlos" Castañeda, Sr. | Fosythe Gould Funeral Home

Charles “Carlos” Castañeda Sr., aged 91 of Sandwich, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on November 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Carlos is survived by his devoted wife Joyce, children Charles (late Debbie) Castañeda Jr., Cristina Mazanec, Patricia (George) Baltazar, and Carolyna Castañeda, and grandchildren.

Dedicated to his career at Rayno Rivet Specialties for 46 years, Carlos also honorably served as a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud member of the Sandwich American Legion Post 181 and a devoted fan of the White Sox. Carlos found joy in yard work, watching TV, playing cards, bowling, and most importantly, spending cherished moments with his family. Recognized for his love and devotion, Carlos will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Visitation for Carlos will be held on December 5, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Interment with full military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

The family extends their gratitude to Tiffany Engelman for her devoted care in Carlos's final days. She was truly an angel on earth to him.
