City of Joliet Public Assets Committee met Oct. 21.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Public Assets Committee Meeting Minutes 8-19-24

A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, seconded by

Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to approve Public Assets Committee Meeting Minutes 8-19-24. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilman Cardenas and Councilwoman Ibarra

Absent: Councilwoman Reardon

AGENDA ITEMS

Award of Contract for the Roofing Envelope Replacement at the Joliet Area Historical Museum to Adler Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. in the Amount of $107,400.00

Facilities Management Director Blaine Kline briefly discussed the Joliet Area Historical Museum roof replacement and bids received. Councilman Cardenas inquired about the museum’s HVAC. Mr. Kline responded.

A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, seconded by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to approve Award of Contract for the Roofing Envelope Replacement at the Joliet Area Historical Museum to Adler Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. in the Amount of $107,400.00. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilman Cardenas and Councilwoman Ibarra Absent: Councilwoman Reardon

Recommendation to Approve the Professional Services, Purchase, and Installation of Joliet Union Station Grand Ballroom Ceiling Painting Project to Cosgrove Construction Inc in the Amount of $67,625.00

Mr. Kline gave a brief overview of the Union Station Grand Ballroom ceiling paint project, proposals received, and project timeframe. Councilman Cardenas inquired about the acoustics. Mr. Kline responded.

A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, seconded by

Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to approve Recommendation to Approve the Professional Services, Purchase, and Installation of Joliet Union Station Grand Ballroom Ceiling Painting Project to Cosgrove Construction Inc in the Amount of $67,625.00. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilman Cardenas and Councilwoman Ibarra

Absent: Councilwoman Reardon

Recommendation to Approve the Professional Services, Purchase, and Installation of a Weil McLain Boiler for Union Station to Anchor Mechanical Inc. in the Amount of $62,769.10

Mr. Kline gave a brief overview of the Union Station boiler and proposals received. There were no questions from the committee members.

A motion was made by Councilman Cesar Cardenas, seconded by

Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to approve Recommendation to Approve the Professional Services, Purchase, and Installation of a Weil McLain Boiler for Union Station to Anchor Mechanical Inc. in the Amount of $62,769.10. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: Councilman Cardenas and Councilwoman Ibarra

Absent: Councilwoman Reardon

NEW OR OLD BUSINESS - NOT FOR FINAL ACTION OR RECOMMENDATION

There was a brief discussion about the Victory Centre gymnasium demolition, Joliet Slammers loading dock and 2025 budget, Old Joliet Women’s Prison, and City of Joliet owned properties.
