Renowned for his passion for quilting, sewing, camping, gardening, and traditions, Vernon cherished family gatherings and organized New Year's Eve parties for his grandchildren. Embracing the joy of music, he enjoyed singing country tunes, dancing, and participating in the church choir. An amiable host, Vernon's warm embrace welcomed all.
Visitation will be at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a subsequent funeral service on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, Vernon will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Gardens South in Oak Lawn, IL. Memorial contributions can be directed to the family's wishes.
