Kevin Phillip Makowan, 35, Remembered for his Adventurous Spirit and Love for Family

Kevin Phillip Makowan, 35, of Longmont, Colorado, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on October 6th, 2024. Kevin, born on July 3rd, 1989, in Joliet, IL, to Marcy Brown and Phillip Makowan, was a vibrant individual known for his adventurous spirit and dedication to his family.

Kevin's journey after graduating from Peotone High School led him to pursue a career in concrete pumping before achieving his goal of becoming a Crane Operator in Colorado. He relished outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and biking, and had a passion for cooking, entertaining, and spending time with his loved ones. His roles as a devoted uncle, passionate dog lover, and source of laughter and joy in the lives of his family and friends were pivotal to his character.

His passing has left a void in the lives of his mother Marcy Brown, father Phillip Makowan, sister Nicole (Scott) Ginder, nephew Isaac, niece Izzy, stepsister Haley Brown, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

A visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on October 17, 2024, with a funeral service the same day, officiated by Pastor Bryan D. Migala. The graveside service will take place at Peotone Cemetery on October 18, 2024. In memory of Kevin, individuals can honor his life by sending flowers through the family's floral store.

Kevin's legacy will be marked by his adventurous nature, warm spirit, and love for family, which will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
