Arlene Marie McLaughlin | O'Neil Funeral Home And Heritage Crematory - Lockport

Arlene Marie McLaughlin, 82, known as Renee, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Dallas, TX. Born on October 17, 1942, in Jolliet, Illinois, to Marie and Alex Jordan, Arlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Survived by her son Jody (Sterling) O'Donnell, grandchildren Reese and Drake O'Donnell, sisters Geraldine McCarney, Marilyn Warren, Patricia (Richard) Schonfeld, and brothers Richard (Karen) Jordan and Raymond (Kathy) Jordan. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas O'Donnell (1984) and spouse Dr. John J. McLaughlin (2020).

Arlene dedicated 27 years of service at Stateville State Prison, rising through the ranks to manage death row and executions. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and the joy of her grandchildren. Diagnosed with leukemia, she showed immense courage and positivity during her treatment.

In memoriam, donations can be made to SARA, a no-kill animal shelter in Seguin, TX.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet, IL, with Entombment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville, IL.
