Ruby Patricia Lee, Respected Community Member and Devoted Member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Passes Away at 88

Ruby Patricia Lee, formerly of Romeoville and Chicago, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2024, at her residence in the Carillon Lakes community. Ruby, 88, was an active member of her community, known for her years of service as an Executive Secretary for the Valley View District and her involvement in various roles at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Romeoville.

Ruby retired in 2002 after 36 years of service and was a past president of the Secretaries Union. At St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, she served as a CCD Instructor, classroom teachers' aide, President of St. Vincent DePaul, and music ministry English and Spanish choir director. Ruby's passion for music extended to her role as a Cantor for numerous funeral masses, weddings, and quinceaneras.

Survived by her companion and dear friend Jim Piechowiak, children Karen Benik and Brett Lee, grandchildren, siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews, Ruby was a devoted mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community. Preceded in death by her husband Frank D. Lee, parents Lawrence and Irene Campos, sister Yolanda Dorado, and an infant brother Lawrence Campos.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 7 pm at Anderson Memorial Home in Plainfield. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 28, 2024, proceeding from the funeral home chapel to St. Andrew the Apostle Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruby's memory can be made to St. Andrew's Parish.

Ruby Patricia Lee will be remembered for her dedication to her community, love for music, and commitment to her family and faith. She leaves behind a legacy of service and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
