Millie Erickson, 93, Fondly Remembered for Community Engagement and Love of Dance, Passes Away

Millie Erickson | Hickey Memorial Chapel-New Lenox

New Lenox - Millie Erickson (nee Bolker), aged 93, a resident of New Lenox since 1932, passed away on October 17, 2024. Millie was born on December 13, 1930, in Chicago, IL. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Irving Erickson, as well as her parents Mary and Robert Bolker, and brothers Robert, Rudy, and William Bolker.

Survived by her children Lee, Donald, and Guy Erickson, grandchildren Briana, Robbie, and Patrick, and great-granddaughter Lucy Renick, Millie was adored by many nieces and nephews. Millie cherished water skiing, camping, and ballroom dancing in her youth. She was an active member of her community, particularly involved in the CCW at St. Jude Church in New Lenox. Millie played a crucial role in organizing reunions for her Joliet High School Class of 1948 and updating their memorial list.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Church or New Lenox United Methodist Church are appreciated. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at New Lenox United Methodist Church located at 339 W Haven Ave, New Lenox, IL 60451.

Millie Erickson will be remembered for her active engagement in her community, love for dance, and dedication to keeping connections alive within her class and beyond. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and community spirit.
