Beecher/Calumet City - Elaine Mary Knowles (nee Raschke), 94, of Beecher and Calumet City, passed away on October 14. She was the devoted daughter of the late William and Leona Raschke, sister to the late Raymond Raschke and the late Laverne Barrett, and a beloved companion of the late Martin Dosen. Elaine was a loving mother to Donald (Jennifer) Knowles and Susan (Robert) Donaghue, and a cherished grandmother of five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two nieces and two nephews. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, volunteering at Beecher Manor and Village Woods, playing and winning card games, and reading books by Danielle Steel. Arrangements are being handled by Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher, with cremation rites accorded. A private celebration of life will be held in her honor.
