Joe R. Franco, 74, of Mokena, Passes Away After Battle with Pancreatic Cancer

Joe R. Franco, 74, of Mokena, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. A Vietnam War veteran, Joe served his country with valor as a Helicopter Crew Chief and was highly decorated for his service.

He is survived by his wife Laura Franco, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, beloved pup Gunner, and numerous nieces and nephews. Known as "Joe the plumber," he dedicated over 40 years of his life to his plumbing career. Joe was an avid hunter, coach, and active member of various veterans' organizations.

A memorial visitation for Joe will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, with chapel prayers and military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tunnels to Towers or Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in Joe's name are appreciated.

Joe R. Franco's legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
