The City of Joliet Public Utilities Department will commence construction on the Varnado Park Water Main project starting Monday, August 5, 2024. The designated construction area includes several streets: Water St and S DesPlaines St (from McDonough St to Lucas St); S Joliet St (from McDonough St to the dead end); S Ottawa St (from McDonough St to Shelby St); Munroe St (from the dead end to S Ottawa St); W Jasper St (from Water St to S Joliet St); Shelby St (from the dead end to Water St and from S DesPlaines St to S Joliet St); and Sheridan St (from the dead end to Water St).
"We appreciate your patience and ask that you drive slowly and cautiously through any construction zone," stated a representative from the Public Utilities Department.
