Ruby Street bridge in Joliet to close for upgrades starting July 30

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced a full closure of Ruby Street (Illinois 53) over the Des Plaines River in Joliet, effective from Tuesday, July 30 to Friday, August 2. This measure is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade the movable bridges in downtown Joliet and is contingent on weather conditions. The closure is necessary for the installation of aerial towers on the bridge.
