The City of Joliet Public Safety Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The committee comprises Councilman Joseph Clement as Chairperson, along with Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra and Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman.

The meeting will commence with a roll call followed by the approval of minutes from the previous meeting held on May 7, 2024. Citizens wishing to speak on agenda items will be given up to four minutes each to express their views. This section is not intended for questions and answers, and neither staff nor committee members typically respond to public comments during this time.

Key agenda items include the purchase and installation of cabinets for Fire Station 9 from Tri-Star at a cost of $23,616.00. Additionally, there are two resolutions up for discussion:

1. A resolution authorizing the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Joliet and Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C concerning reciprocal reporting and surveillance system access.

2. A resolution authorizing an MOU between the City of Joliet and the Joliet Junior College Police Department regarding 911 services.

New or old business not requiring final action or recommendation will also be addressed before opening the floor again for public comments on non-agenda items. Similar to earlier in the meeting, speakers will have a maximum of four minutes each.

The meeting will conclude with an adjournment announcement. The location is accessible, and individuals needing reasonable accommodations are encouraged to contact Christa M. Desiderio, City Clerk, at (815) 724-3780.
