As part of the next phase of construction for the installation of new traffic signals on IL Route 53 at Emerald Drive, traffic control and safety measures including a detour will be established beginning Friday, May 31, 2024. This will result in the closure of Emerald Drive at Route 53 for approximately ten weeks.
All Emerald Drive traffic will be rerouted to Laraway Road and Cashel Lane to access businesses on Emerald Drive.
Additional information will be released as construction phasing progresses.
Full construction for the traffic signal installation and turn lane improvements is anticipated to be completed by fall of 2024.
