City of Wilmington City Council met April 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

MAYOR BEN DIETZ CALLED TO ORDER THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE WILMINGTON CITY COUNCIL AT 7:00 P.M.

ROLL CALL

After the pledge of allegiance, the following answered to Roll Call: Alderpersons Kevin Kirwin, Ryan Jeffries, Dennis Vice, Ryan Knight, Leslie Allred, Jonathan Mietzner, Thomas Smith. Alderperson Todd Holmes was absent. The number present constitutes a quorum.

Also present: City Administrator Jeannine Smith, Finance Director Nancy Gross, Public Works Director James Gretencord, Chief of Police Adam Zink, City Attorney Bryan Wellner, and Deputy City Clerk Joie Ziller.

15. Approval to Adjust the Director of Public Works Salary to include $125,000 annually and permission to use a company vehicle for travel to and from work

Alderperson Kirwin made a motion and Alderperson Knight seconded to approve the Consent Agenda for April 16, 2024 except for tabeling the following agreements under #14: Rodney Emling for $1,400.00, Rick Lindy and the Wild Ones Band for $1,200.00, Cowboy Co The Country Music Show for $2,000.00, and Fearless: A Tribute to Taylor for $3,500.00

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 8 Kirwin, Knight, Vice, Allred, Mietzner, Jeffries, Smith

NAYS: 0

ABSENT: 1 Holmes

The motion carried.

MAYOR’S REPORT

Mayor Dietz recognized and presented certificates to the Wilmington Mighty Cats Wrestling Club.

ORDER OF BUSINESS

Alderperson Mietzner made a motion and Alderperson Knight seconded to approve the hire of Susan McDavid as the Building Permit Technician at the hourly rate of $27.38 per hour with an effective start date of April 22, 2024

Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 7 Mietzner, Knight, Jeffries, Kirwin, Vice, Allred, Smith

NAYS: 0

ABSENT: 1 Holmes

The motion carried.

Alderperson Knight made a motion and Alderperson Kirwin seconded to approve Ordinance No. 24-04-16-03, An Ordinance Amending the Compensation of Certain Officers and Officials
