Joliet announces week-long closure of Olympic Boulevard for construction improvements

The City of Joliet has announced a temporary closure of Olympic Boulevard, from Houbolt Road to Richard T. Rivera Way, commencing on Monday, May 20, 2024. This interruption is due to utility relocation work in conjunction with construction improvements on Houbolt Road and Olympic Boulevard.

The closure is expected to last approximately one week. In the meantime, a detour will be posted for the convenience of drivers. However, they should anticipate delays and may want to consider alternate routes. The city will release additional information as the construction phases progress.
