Glenda McCullum spoke regarding Council Memo #703-23: Approve the Purchase of One (1) Transit Passenger Van from Ron Tirapelli Ford, Inc. in the amount of $55,810.22. Fire Chief Jeff Carey explained the use of the transit passenger van is for the Fire Department Hazmat Team. Ms. McCullum also spoke concerning asylum seekers.
Mary Beth Gannon thanked the Council for approving Council Memo #725-23: Ordinance Amending Sections of Chapter 19 to Address Unscheduled Intercity Bus Drop Offs and Impoundment of Vehicles Used in Violation of the Code. She also discussed the inspector general report regarding the Joliet Area Museum.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilman Hug wished everyone a Happy New Year.
Councilwoman Ibarra thanked the residents of District 5 for sharing their comments. She expressed a need for an agency that will accept hand knitted hats. She also expressed her support for the nurses at St. Joe's Hospital. Councilwoman Ibarra wished her mother well for her upcoming surgery and wished everyone a Happy New Year.
Councilman Mudron thanked everyone for coming and participating.
Councilwoman Quillman wished her husband a Happy Birthday and thanked the community for their support. She wished everyone a Happy New Year.
Councilwoman Reardon thanked everyone for their participation and assured those in attendance that the Council will continue to monitor the situation.
Mayor D'Arcy welcomed everyone to 2024, highlighted the city's plans to address trucking and affordable housing issues, and thanked everyone for their participation.
