Village of Romeoville Village Board met Dec. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

Roll Call

Present 6 - Trustee Jose Chavez, Trustee Dave Richards, Trustee Brian A. Clancy Sr., Mayor John Noak, Trustee Linda Palmiter, and Trustee Ken Griffin

Absent 1 - Trustee Lourdes Aguirre

4. TO DO A CONSENT AGENDA

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Chavez, to do a Consent Agenda as Amended to reflect a change in RES23-3722 to update the address to 201 Romeo Road and to remove RES23-3728 from consideration. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 5 - Trustee Chavez, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, Trustee Palmiter, and Trustee Griffin

Absent: 1 - Trustee Aguirre

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

Approval of the Consent Agenda

A motion was made by Trustee Griffin, seconded by Trustee Richards, to approve the Consent Agenda. The motion carried by the following vote:

5. MAYOR'S REPORT

Mayor Noak commended the Police Department for their great job on the DARE graduations at the elementary schools this year. Condolences to Trustee Griffin on the passing of his brother in-law. The Golden Age Club holiday party is coming up and the Grand Haven visit with the Police Department. Our holiday lights will run until January 1st. Thank you to our team for all the work they do to make those lights happen. Mayor Noak wished everyone a safe and joyous holiday season.

6. CLERK'S REPORT

Condolences to Trustee Griffin and the entire Griffin family. Linda Clancy be sure to take care of yourself. Congratulations to Harvest Saturday for another successful year. Congratulations to the Romeoville Flag Football Super Bowl Champs. No update from Community Service Council or the Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation. Have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.

7. CITIZEN'S, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS AND LIAISON REPORTS

8. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT

Congratulations to the Rec Center for their 4 star rating on the Risk Assessment with Star Guard at the Aquatic Center. It is not typical to receive such a high rating the first time. Floor is being changed at the Aquatic Center and it will be closed until Friday. There was a large tree removal along Rt. 53 at Heidelberg Material Service. They are expanding their berm. Happy Holidays. The next board meeting isn't until January 17th, 2024.

Mayor Noak commented that if there is anything out in the community, myself, the board and staff are happy to answer any questions.

ORD23-1887 An Ordinance Approving a Special Use Permit for Truck Sales at 8 Greenwood Ave.

ORD23-1888 An Ordinance Approving the Rezoning of Territory at 1385 N Joliet Road

This Ordinance was Approved.

ORD23-1889 An Ordinance Approving a Special Use Permit for a Planned Unit Development – Final Development Plan for NR 1 Transport, INC at 1385 N. Joliet Road

This Ordinance was Approved.

10. BOARD COMMENTS

Trustee Chavez- Condolences to Trustee Griffin. If you hear things or see things, contact us and we will get you the truth. Congratulations to the football teams and thanks to the parents who sign their kids up for these programs. Thanks to Chris Braasch and everything she's done with Harvest Saturday. Holiday lights are still going.The ground breakings are good to see. Many thanks to everyone and every department this year. Merry Christmas, happy new year and happy holidays to all.

Trustee Palmiter- Congrats to St. Andrews for another successful Harvest Saturday. Romeoville Flag Football is a great program. Merry Christmas, be safe, be healthy, and enjoy time with family and friends. Congrats to our Police Department for another successful DARE program. Condolences to Ken and Jan.

Trustee Griffin- Congratulations to Chris and the Harvest Saturday program. Thank you to everyone who supported that. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The next Veterans Commission meeting is January 16th.

Trustee Clancy- Condolences to Ken and his family. Glad to see Harvest Saturday is back again. Congratulations to the PD on the DARE program.

It's great to see the football players. The next Keep Romeoville Beautiful meeting is January 4th. The 2024 Winter/ Spring program guide is here at the Rec Center. Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy New Year.

Trustee Richards- The next Planning and Zoning meeting is on January 23rd. Condolences to Ken and Jan on the passing of Jan's brother.

Condolences to the Silva family. Congratulations to the flag football champions. Glad to have Harvest Saturday back. Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION

A motion was made by Trustee Clancy, seconded by Trustee Richards, that this Executive Session be Opened at 6:41 PM. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 5 - Trustee Chavez, Trustee Richards, Trustee Clancy, Trustee Palmiter, and Trustee Griffin

Absent: 1 - Trustee Aguirre

Non-voting: 1 - Mayor Noak

11. EXECUTIVE SESSION- Personnel- 5 ILCS 120/2(c )(1) and Collective Bargaining Agreements- 5 ILCS 120/2(c )(2)

A motion was made by Trustee Chavez, seconded by Trustee Griffin, that this Executive Session be Closed at 6:57 PM. The motion carried by the following vote:
