Work on the Joliet – Ottawa Street Water Main Improvement Project continues to progress.  Water main installation work on Joliet Street between Jackson Street and Cass Street will begin on December 19, 2023.

The project requires significant traffic control to be installed for the duration of the project.  A full road closure beginning on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 is required for the work on Joliet Street between Cass Street and Jackson Street.  It is anticipated that this phase of work will be completed and this section of Joliet Street reopened by April 1, 2024.

Drivers should be prepared for long delays and follow posted detours.  Drivers are also reminded to slow down and use extreme caution when driving around or through work zones. Obey the posted speed limit and signing and watch for workers or flaggers.  For the safety of workers and drivers do not use cell phones or text.
