A brief discussion was held concerning the professional service engagement, the current legal department staff, and the possibility of bringing other legal work back in-house.

A motion was made by Councilman Pat Mudron, seconded by Councilwoman Suzanna Ibarra, to approve COUNCIL MEMO #398-23: Professional Services Engagement with Ancel Glink for Interim Corporation Counsel Service.

CITY MANAGER:

The Interim City Manager and Council wished Councilman Clement a happy birthday.

NEW BUSINESS (Not for Final Action or Recommendation):

Councilman Clement briefly discussed the possibility of the City having a facility for essential supplies in case of an emergency.

Councilwoman Ibarra highlighted the Harvey Brooks Center Farm to Table, Including You, and Club Latin Social events.

In response to Councilwoman Quillman's question, Finance Director Kevin Sing discussed the $6.5 million bond for the Library.

In response to Councilwoman Reardon, the Interim City Manager discussed the review of a sidewalk grinder in the budget. A brief discussion was held regarding sidewalk grinding.

Mayor D'Arcy extended the Council Committee assignments for an additional 90 days. He highlighted the ribbon cutting at Lion Electric, discussions held regarding hydrogen powered semi-trucks, an active shooter and mental health presentation, and a Proclamation presented to the Joliet Rotary Club.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMENTS:

All Councilmembers wished Councilman Clement a Happy Birthday.

Councilwoman Ibarra thanked Community Director Eva-Marie Tropper for all of her assistance.
